Memorial Day weekend, the hubster and I traveled to Greenville for a photo session at Falls Park. If you’ve never been to Falls Park, you need to make a plan to visit. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, with bright foilage, green grass, benches strategically placed under a wealth of shade and a duck or two may cross your path.
After my photo session ended, we decided to visit Southern Culture Kitchen & Bar. I was anxious to taste drive the southern cuisine and to see my photographs hanging on the walls of this fine establishment.
They chose to purchase my photographs in black and white. The images, in my opinion, fit Southern Culture to a tee! I was like a proud mama, grinning ear to ear, looking at my photographs gracing the walls.
The decor made us feel right at home. Just like visiting a southern friend, swinging on a porch swing and taking in the beauty of it all.
Now, to the food. The hubster ordered the Bluegrass Chicken and I, The Pleasantburger. Can I just say, OH…..MY…..GOODNESS. The food was absolutely delicious. As we say in the South, it was “smack your granny good!”
- Bluegrass Chicken – Marinated grilled chicken breast, havarti cheese, peach aioli, lettuce, red onions and tomatoes.
- The Pleasantburger – A sirloin, brisket and short rib grind burger with bacon onion jam, white cheddar, fresh pickles, lettuce, tomato, and southern culture steak sauce on an italian bun.
I had every intention of photographing the food; however, when it arrived, the only thing I could do was taste the wonderful aroma that was there before me. I will do my best to remember next time.
If you are in or near Greenville, SC, my taste buds highly recommend Southern Culture Kitchen & Bar. I promise you will not be disappointed!!!
