I was looking at old pictures the other day trying to find an image of a friend who was turning 40. My plan was to find a funny image that was suitable to have appear in our local newspaper. I was planning a monumental pay back for an image that appeared in the paper when I turned 40. As I was strolling through the files, a huge smile would erupt on my face while me eyes welled up with tears. I was looking for images of my friend Wendi, who was married to Stacey.
Today marks the 3rd anniversary of the passing of an amazing friend, Stacey Fincher. All of our lives were altered when we heard the news Stacey was no longer with us. Stacey left this world too soon. As I’ve stated in previous posts, Stacey lived his dash, and he lived it with intensity and a smile!
Stacey’s dash lives on today, through his son, Ryland. Whether it’s a smile, a smirk, a glance or his gait, Ryland is a spitting image of his father, Stacey.
I’m always honored when Wendi contacts me for a session with Ryland. Our time together is fun and invigorating. Fun, because there is never a dull moment. Invigorating, because Ryland keeps me on my toes. I leave the session feeling like I have just worked out!!
Today is bittersweet. While I am saddened by the loss of a great friend, I’m happy to see that Stacey will live on through Ryland’s dash. We continue to tell stories of Stacey that bring a smile to our face or an uncontrollable laugh. Stacey brightened the lives of everyone who knew him. I will never forget Stacey and will continue to honor his memory. We miss you, lil fella!!! May you rest in peace.
